🐾 Scottish Fold & Scottish Straight – Known for their adorable folded ears and round faces, these cats are affectionate, playful, and intelligent.

🐾 British Shorthair – A classic, plush-coated breed with a calm and loyal personality.

🐾 Munchkin – Famous for their short legs and playful nature, Munchkins are energetic, curious, and full of charm.

🐾 Hybrid Breeds – Carefully bred combinations of these breeds to create unique, healthy, and well-socialized kittens.

Each of our breeding cats is DNA tested and free of FeLV, FIV, PKD, and HCM, ensuring top-quality health and temperament.

We often get questions about the difference between Scottish Folds and Scottish Straights. Both are lovable, round-faced cats with sweet personalities—but here’s what sets them apart:

🐱 What is a Scottish Fold?

Scottish Folds are known for their distinctive folded ears, which give them an adorable “owl-like” or teddy bear appearance. The fold is caused by a natural genetic mutation that affects cartilage.

  • Folded ears usually develop between 3–4 weeks of age
  • Scottish Folds are affectionate, mellow, and bond closely with their families
  • Folds can have single, double, or triple folds, with triple being the tightest

🐱 What is a Scottish Straight?

Scottish Straights are identical in appearance and temperament to Scottish Folds—except their ears stand upright. They have the same round head, plush coat, and sweet personality.

  • They’re not a different breed—just a different ear type
  • Often more affordable than Folds, but just as loving and playful
  • Ideal for families who want the Scottish look without the ear fold

🧬 Why Do You Only Breed Folds with Straights?

For health and ethical reasons, we only breed Scottish Folds to Scottish Straights—never Fold to Fold.

  • The folded ear gene (Fd) is dominant, and only one copy is needed for a kitten to have folded ears.
  • Breeding two Folds (Fd/Fd) can result in kittens with painful skeletal issues, especially in the tail, legs, and joints.
  • Our Folds are DNA tested to carry only one copy of the fold gene (Fd/fd), ensuring the healthiest possible kittens.

🔍 Can You Tell If a Kitten Will Be a Fold at Birth?

Not right away! Folded ears typically start to develop between 3–4 weeks of age. Until then, all kittens have upright ears, just like Scottish Straights.

Are Folds More Expensive Than Straights?

Yes—due to their rarity and popularity, Scottish Folds are priced higher than Scottish Straights. But both types are equally lovable, and we raise them with the same care and quality.

Munchkins are one of the most recognizable and charming cat breeds, thanks to their short legs and playful personalities. Here's everything you need to know about Munchkins, including leg length varieties and what to expect as your kitten grows.

🐱 What is a Munchkin?

Munchkins are a unique breed known for their short legs, which are caused by a natural genetic mutation. Despite their stature, Munchkins are:

  • Fast and agile
  • Full of energy and curiosity
  • Incredibly social and loving

🦵 Do All Munchkins Have the Same Short Legs?

Not exactly! Munchkins come in three leg-length types, which typically become clear between 3–4 weeks of age:

Rug Hugger (Ultra Short)

  • The most well-known type
  • Very low to the ground
  • Rarest and most sought-after
  • Typically highest in price

Super Short (Intermediate)

  • Noticeably shorter than a regular cat
  • Not as extreme as rug hugger Munchkins
  • Still has the classic Munchkin look

Non-Standard (Regular Legs)

  • Full-length legs, similar to a typical British Shorthair or Persian
  • Carries the Munchkin gene but doesn’t express it visually
  • More affordable, but still has the same sweet face and personality

⏳ When Can You Tell What Leg Length a Kitten Has?

You usually won’t be able to tell for sure until the kittens are around 3 to 4 weeks old, once their body proportions become more defined.

🧬 Is the Munchkin Gene Safe?

Yes—when bred responsibly.

  • We never breed two short-legged Munchkins together, as this can increase the risk of health issues.
  • Our breeding program pairs one short-legged parent with one standard-legged parent to ensure healthy kittens.

📈 Are Shorter Legs More Expensive?

Yes.

  • Standard and super short Munchkins are priced higher due to their rarity and demand.
  • Non-standard (regular leg) kittens are more affordable, but just as loving!

Bringing home a new kitten is such an exciting time! To help make the transition smooth and stress-free—for both you and your kitten—here’s what we recommend having ready:

🏡 Create a Safe, Quiet Space

  • Set up a small room or enclosed area just for your kitten for the first few days.
  • Include a cozy bed, litter box, food, water, and toys.
  • Keep loud noises and other pets away during the adjustment period.

🍽 Food & Feeding Supplies

  • We’ll provide a small bag of our preferred brand, Royal Canin.
  • Have the same brand on hand to avoid tummy issues during the transition.
  • Gradually switch to your preferred food if desired (over 7–10 days).
  • Use shallow metal dishes or kitten-sized bowls.
  • Keep fresh water available at all time, we recommend pet fountains.

🚽 Litter & Litter Box

  • Use a low-sided litter box that’s easy for kittens to access. Kittens should not use an automatic litter box until they meet the minimum weight requirement.
  • We recommend World's Best Cat Litter.
  • Scoop daily and place the box in a quiet area of the home.

🧸 Toys & Enrichment

  • Kittens need mental stimulation and playtime!
  • Stock up on soft toys, teaser wands, tunnels, and scratching posts.
  • Rotate toys regularly to keep things exciting.

🧴 Grooming Supplies

  • Brush (especially for longhaired kittens)
  • Nail clippers or kitten nail scissors
  • Pet-safe wipes or kitten shampoo (optional)

🚗 Vet Visit

  • Schedule a wellness exam with your veterinarian within the first 72 hours of bringing your kitten home.
  • Bring any paperwork we provide (vaccination record, health check info).

❤️ Love & Patience

  • Give your kitten time to settle in at their own pace.
  • Some kittens are confident right away—others need a little more time.
  • Gentle handling, calm voices, and routine will help them feel secure.

If you have any questions or need recommendations on supplies, just ask—we’re here to support you every step of the way!

Genotype refers to a cat’s genetic makeup — the DNA it carries, including traits that may not be visible. For example, a cat may carry the gene for chocolate color or long hair without showing those traits physically.

Phenotype is the visible expression of those genes — what you actually see. This includes coat color, pattern, ear shape, eye color, and hair length.

👉 Example:
A kitten may look like a shorthaired golden tabby (phenotype), but its genotype might show it carries long hair, chocolate, and colorpoint genes — meaning it can pass those traits on to its kittens.

Understanding both helps breeders predict what traits kittens may inherit, even if they’re not immediately visible.
